The application for the aforementioned programme must be jointly formulated by the industry-academia collaborative team and submitted separately to both the CORNET platform and the NSTC. Should either party fail to receive the application, the collaborative project shall not be established.
Qualifications for the Taiwanese Joint Team Principal Investigator:
I. Must meet the eligibility criteria for principal investigators of NSTC research projects.
II. Must form an industry-academia R&D team with the Taiwanese industrial consortium and SME requirements group. The SME requirements group shall comprise at least five domestic enterprises and comply with the CORNET platform's project application guidelines.
III. Joint Team Composition: Each research project shall be jointly proposed by a Project Consortium comprising teams from two or more different member jurisdictions. Each consortium must be structured around the following three pillars:
i. Small and medium-sized enterprise organisations, associations or clusters, the structure of which may be determined according to national circumstances.
ii. Research performer, an organisation receiving grant funding to conduct research on behalf of industry-academia teams.
iii. Small and Medium-sized Enterprise User Committee (SME user committee), requiring participation from at least five domestic SMEs in the research and development programme; this number may vary between countries.
The selected project is scheduled to commence on 1 January 2027 for a duration of two years. The Taiwanese side will provide funding through a bilateral agreement project-based (Full Grant) international collaborative research scheme.
The aforementioned call for proposals is currently accepting submissions.
Prospective applicants shall adhere to the following steps:
(1) Complete the online application on NSTC's website.
(2) Download the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.”
(3) After acquiring the signatures or seals of the head and dean of the executive department/institute, please email the finalized form to the Division of Research Project Affairs (RPA).
The submission deadline is by 17:00 on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Please simultaneously submit your online application through the NSTC system prior to the aforementioned internal application deadline, to enable the university to compile the list and forward it to the NSTC in due time.
