This bilateral collaborative research project between Taiwan and Japan (NSTC-NIMS) requires joint deliberation and submission of the project proposal by the principal investigators from both Taiwan and NIMS. The Japanese principal investigator must comply with NIMS regulations; the Taiwanese principal investigator must apply to the NSTC for a ‘Bilateral Agreement Expansion and Value-Added (add-on) International Collaborative Research Project’ in accordance with the stipulated procedures.
Areas of cooperation include:
i. Energy and Environmental Materials
ii. Quantum Materials
iii. High-Performance Materials for Space Use
iv. Soft materials (Polymeric- and Bio-materials)
v. AI-assisted Materials Design
vi. Future Semiconductor Devices
Prospective applicants shall adhere to the following steps:
(1) Complete the online application on NSTC's website.
(2) Download the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.”
(3) After acquiring the signatures or seals of the head and dean of the executive department/institute, please email the finalized form to the Division of Research Project Affairs (RPA).
The submission deadline is by 17:00 on Thursday, 30 July, 2026.
Please simultaneously submit your online application through the NSTC system prior to the aforementioned internal application deadline, to enable the university to compile the list and forward it to the NSTC in due time.
