Please be advised that applications for the National Science Technology Council (NSTC) “International Cooperative Project” must be submitted within the designated timeframe as stipulated by the university. Applications failing to comply with these requirements will not be accepted. This notice is hereby circulated for your information and to remind all relevant personnel:
Recently, there have been repeated instances within the university where applicants for the NSTC “International Cooperative Project” have submitted proposals solely based on the NSTC's website announcements or in response to invitations from overseas partners, on the basis of the application deadlines stated by the NSTC. This has resulted in failure to observe the university's internal deadlines as announced in official correspondence, leading to late submissions and consequently missed opportunities to apply for these programmes.
The calls for proposals for “International Cooperative Project” jointly solicited by the NSTC and foreign countries shall set the common deadline agreed upon by the NSTC and the respective academic research funding agencies of those countries. However, the NSTC also stipulates that domestic application must be consolidated and compiled into a single list by the respective service institutions before being submitted to the NSTC by the institution. Overseas research partners shall submit their applications directly to their respective national academic research funding agencies without requiring consolidation through the applicant's home institution. The procedures differ, and the administrative processing times required are also distinct.
To uphold fairness in research project applications and ensure timely completion of internal administrative procedures thereby safeguarding applicants' rights, those intending to apply for “International Cooperative Project” must also carefully review the official application notice issued by the University (distributed to primary and secondary units and campus noticeboards, simultaneously declared on the "Latest News on Funding Opportunities for Research Projects" section on ORD's website and via NTU email system-wide announcements). Applications for the NSTC “International Cooperative Project” must be submitted via the NSTC's official website and strictly adhere to the deadlines stipulated by this institution (rather than those announced by the NSTC). Concurrently, the “National Taiwan University Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project” must be submitted to the designated officer at the Division of Research Project Affairs, Office of Research and Development. Only upon completion of these steps shall the application process be deemed finalized. Late submissions will not be accepted.
