The project proposal must be jointly drafted by the principal investigators from both Taiwan and Spain, and submitted separately to the NSTC and AEI for review. Should either party fail to receive the proposal, the collaborative project cannot proceed.
This call for submissions is restricted to the fields of 【Information and Communication Technology】 and 【Biomedical Science】.
The subsidy programme shall, as a rule, be implemented on a three-year basis, with both Taiwan and the Spain sharing the research costs required for collaborative projects. The subsidy for each Taiwanese project shall, as a rule, be NT$1.2 million per annum.
Prospective applicants shall adhere to the following steps:
(1) Complete the online application on NSTC's website.
(2) Download the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.”
(3) After acquiring the signatures or seals of the head and dean of the executive department/institute, please email the finalized form to the Division of Research Project Affairs (RPA).
The submission deadline is by 17:00 on Friday, 15 May, 2026.
Please simultaneously submit your online application through the NSTC system prior to the aforementioned internal application deadline, to enable the university to compile the list and forward it to the NSTC in due time.
In addition, please note that the application procedures and deadlines for the Spanish side differ from those of the Taiwanese side. Applications from Taiwanese institutions must first be collated and submitted via the system by the principal investigator’s employing institution (i.e. the university); the university will then compile a list of applicants and send the application material along with an official letter to the NSTC.
To ensure that the internal administrative procedures are completed smoothly and submitted to the NSTC on schedule, applicants must strictly observe the aforementioned internal deadlines and submit both the online application and the hard copy of the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.” within the specified timeframe. Late submissions will not be accepted.
