To enhance the international academic collaboration experience of Taiwanese scholars and researchers, the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) regarding the Project-Based Personnel Exchange Programme (PPP Programme), with the aim of facilitating personnel exchanges between the two sides to meet the needs of research projects.
The selected projects are scheduled to run for a period of two years, commencing on 1 January 2027, and will be funded by the Taiwanese side through a bilateral personnel exchange programme. The maximum annual grant per project is NT$350,000.
Prospective applicants shall adhere to the following steps:
(1) Complete the online application on NSTC's website.
(2) Download the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.”
(3) After acquiring the signatures or seals of the head and dean of the executive department/institute, please email the finalized form to the Division of Research Project Affairs (RPA).
The submission deadline is by 17:00 on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Please simultaneously submit your online application through the NSTC system prior to the aforementioned internal application deadline, to enable the university to compile the list and forward it to the NSTC in due time.
Furthermore, the application procedures and deadlines for the German side differ from those of the Taiwanese side. Applications from Taiwanese institutions must first be collated and submitted via the system by the principal investigator’s employing institution (i.e. this University). The University will then compile a list of applicants and formally submit it to the NSTC.
To ensure that the internal administrative procedures are completed smoothly and submitted to the NSTC on schedule, applicants must strictly observe the aforementioned internal deadlines and submit both the online application and the hard copy of the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.” within the specified timeframe. Late submissions will not be accepted.
