To promote academic development in Taiwan and foster academic cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries, the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) has signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) to jointly fund this project.
Areas of cooperation:
All fields of basic and applied science, including the humanities.
Selected projects are scheduled to commence on 1 January 2027 and will run for a period of one to three years. The Taiwanese side will provide funding through a bilateral agreement in the form of an add-on grant. As a general rule, the annual grant for each project shall not exceed NT$600,000.
Prospective applicants shall adhere to the following steps:
(1) Complete the online application on NSTC's website.
(2) Download the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.”
(3) After acquiring the signatures or seals of the head and dean of the executive department/institute, please email the finalized form to the Division of Research Project Affairs (RPA).
The submission deadline is by 17:00 on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Please simultaneously submit your online application through the NSTC system prior to the aforementioned internal application deadline, to enable the university to compile the list and forward it to the NSTC in due time.
Furthermore, the application procedures and deadlines for the Slovak side differ from those of the Taiwanese side. Applications from Taiwanese institutions must first be collated and submitted via the system by the principal investigator’s employing institution (i.e. this University). The University will then compile a list of applicants and formally submit it to the NSTC.
To ensure that the internal administrative procedures are completed smoothly and submitted to the NSTC on time, applicants must strictly observe the aforementioned internal deadlines and submit both the online application and the hard copy of the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.” by the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
