The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) to promote cooperation between Taiwan and Italy in the fields of scientific research and development.
Types of Grants and Funding:
I. Project-Based Personnel Exchange Program (PPP):
Grants are provided for short-term visits or training under collaborative projects, limited to projects with a duration of two years. The sending country shall bear the costs associated with sending researchers (which may include postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students) to the partner country for short-term visits or training; for each project, both the Taiwanese and Italian sides may provide a maximum of 10,000 euros per year.
II. Bilateral Workshop:
Funding is provided for the organizational costs of a single bilateral conference (held in Taiwan) or for international travel expenses (to attend a conference in Italy), with a maximum of 10,000 euros per project from both Taiwan and Italy.
Areas of cooperation include:
i. Biodiversity
ii. Earth and climate science
iii. Space
iv. Precision health
Prospective applicants shall adhere to the following steps:
(1) Complete the online application on NSTC's website.
(2) Download the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.”
(3) After acquiring the signatures or seals of the head and dean of the executive department/institute, please email the finalized form to the Division of Research Project Affairs (RPA).
The submission deadline is by 17:00 on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Please simultaneously submit your online application through the NSTC system prior to the aforementioned internal application deadline, to enable the university to compile the list and forward it to the NSTC in due time.
