NSTC and the School of Medicine (SOM) of Stanford University are jointly soliciting applications for this program. 

Applications must nominate one PhD student currently enrolled in a programme to undertake a two-year study placement at a partner laboratory at Stanford University in the United States, subject to the agreement of the US principal investigator to host and supervise the student; the selected PhD student must be a national of the Republic of China with registered residency.

To enhance domestic research capacity in the field of AI-assisted drug development, Stanford University School of Medicine has provided a list of scholars interested in participating in this call for proposals. The recommended research areas are as follows:

I. Cardiovascular diseases

II. Microbiota research

III. Gene editing

IV. Organoids

V. Stem cells

VI. Cancer research

VII. Immunology and aging

VIII. Vaccinology

IX. Others

Interested applicants shall read through the NSTC regulations on NSTC’s website (https://www.nstc.gov.tw/), and follow the steps below:

(1) Complete the online application on NSTC's website.

(2) Download the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.”

(3) Once the principal investigator, the head of the department/unit and the dean of the faculty have signed or stamped the form, please email the completed form to the Division of Research Project Affairs (RPA).

The deadline for submission is by 17:00, on Monday, July 27, 2026. 

Please ensure you submit your online application via the NSTC system by the aforementioned internal deadline, so that the university can compile the list and submit it to the NSTC on schedule.
