The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the Royal Society (RS) have launched this initiative to encourage collaborative research between researchers in Taiwan and the UK in the field of “Natural Sciences” (primarily covering Natural Sciences, Engineering, Biological Sciences, Medicine and Agricultural Sciences, but excluding the Humanities, Social Sciences and Clinical Medical Research). Applicants are strongly advised to read the relevant regulations carefully in advance.

The maximum annual grant per project from the NSTC side is NT$240,000, to cover expenses directly related to the implementation of the exchange programme by both parties.

Prospective applicants shall adhere to the following steps:

(1) Complete the online application on NSTC's website.

(2) Download the “NTU Application Form for NSTC Grant for the International Cooperative Project.”

(3)  After acquiring the signatures or seals of the head and dean of the executive department/institute, please email the finalized form to the Division of Research Project Affairs (RPA).

The submission deadline is by 17:00 on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Please simultaneously submit your online application through the NSTC system prior to the aforementioned internal application deadline, to enable the university to compile the list and forward it to the NSTC in due time.
