Call for 2021 MOST-BOT Innovative Industries Program (I2P)

A. This announcement is made in accordance with the official document (code: 科部科字第1090055577號) of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) dated Sep. 3, 2020.

B. Introduction

(1)The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the British Office Taipei (BOT) seek to encourage researchers from Taiwan and the UK in six key emerging technological areas to engage in short-term (2-6 week) research visits or bilateral academic seminars with UK universities, public research institutes, innovation centers and industry partners. The purpose of this program is to enhance the research capabilities of researchers in both countries as well as to facilitate international cooperation and participation in large-scale international projects. Refer to the attachments below for further details.

(2) Areas of collaboration: Precision healthcare, semiconductor, digital transformation, satellites and space (AI, 5G, 6G next-generation networks), cybersecurity, advanced network infrastructures and "five plus two" innovative industries plan (intelligent machinery, Asia- Silicon Valley, green energy, biomedical industry, defense technologies, new agriculture, and circular economy).

(3) Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for the funding of Special Topic Research Projects by MOST.

(4) If it is necessary to allocate budget for administrative expenses, refer to the relevant MOST procedure.

C. Application instructions and deadline applicable to NTU

(1) Login to the MOST Research Personnel Portal, complete the form and upload all required documents in both English and Chinese by Fri., Oct. 23, 2020, as required by MOST regulations. Make sure that the uploaded documents are consolidated into a single file and then notify by telephone the contact person at the Office of Research and Development (ORD), which is responsible for tabulating and forwarding all received applications to MOST. Please note that no late applications will be accepted.

(2) Download the MOST International Cooperation Project Application Form for NTU from the ORD Division of Strategic Planning website. Submit the completed form to the ORD Division of Strategic Planning before the NTU deadline.
