A. This announcement is made in accordance with the official document (code: 科部科字第1090050209號) of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) dated Aug. 6, 2020.

B. Introduction

(1) A cooperation agreement with the British Academy (BA) on Small Research Grant (SRG) was signed in 2000 to encourage researchers from Taiwan and the UK to conduct collaborative research in humanities and the social sciences.

(2) A cooperation agreement was signed with the United Kingdom's Royal Society (RS) on Cost Share Programme (CSP) in 2008 to encourage researchers from Taiwan and the UK to conduct collaborative research in natural sciences.

(3) A cooperation agreement was signed with the United Kingdom's Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) on International Partnering Awards (IPA) and International Workshops (IW) in 2010 to promote collaborative research in life sciences between researchers from Taiwan and the UK.

(4) Applicants from Taiwan must meet the qualifications listed by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Refer to the attachments below for further details.

(5) If it is necessary to allocate budgets for administrative expenses, refer to the relevant MOST procedure.

C. Application instructions and deadlines applicable to NTU

(1) MOST-BA (SRG): Tue., Nov. 10, 2020;

(2) MOST-RS (CSP): Wed., Sep. 23, 2020;

(3) MOST-BBSRC:

1. International Partnering Awards (IPA): Wed., Nov. 11, 2020;

２. International Workshops (IW): Wed., Nov. 11, 2020.

(4) Log in to the MOST Research Personnel Portal, complete the form and upload all required documents in both English and Chinese by the above deadline(s). As required by MOST regulations, make sure that the uploaded documents are consolidated into a single file and then notify by telephone the contact person at the Office of Research and Development (ORD), which is responsible for tabulating and forwarding all received applications to MOST. Please note that no late applications will be accepted.

(5) Download the MOST International Cooperation Project Application Form for NTU from the ORD Division of Strategic Planning website. Submit the completed form to the ORD Division of Strategic Planning by the NTU deadline.
