ORD is now accepting proposals for Joint Research Centers/Laboratories projects with international renowned organizations (ICRP Type 1)

Dear Colleagues,

 

The Office of Research and Development is pleased to announce an opportunity to fund the joint establishment of research centers/laboratories projects with international renowned organizations (International Cooperative Research Projects Type 1, ICRP Type 1).

The goal of this grant program is to promote international research collaboration between NTU researchers and internationally renowned organizations, to create an international hub or consortium for research and academic exchange, and so as to catalyze innovative and forward-looking research and significant breakthroughs.

 

Researchers at NTU and their international partner institutions may submit a single integrated collaborative proposal with proof (commitment) of financial support from the international partner institutions. Proposed budgets and their use should adhere to the regulations of the Higher Education SPROUT Project (MOE) and other relevant funding agencies.

 

Project Category:

  • Joint Laboratories: either individual or integrated group project
  • Joint Research Centers: integrated group project only

 

Eligibility:

  • Full-time faculty members and researchers currently serving as the principal investigator on at least one research project funded by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) are eligible to apply.
  • International scholars recruited by the University such as the Yushan scholars for short-term visits, Distinguished Chair Professors for Research, and Distinguished Chair Professors are eligible to apply for ICRP Type I, but requiring NTU quota-based full-time faculty members/researchers to serve as the co-investigators

 

Application Closing Date: Based on actual needs.

 

Expected Number of Awards and Award Size: contingent upon the availability of university budget, project reviewing, and the commitment of joint financial support from international partner institutions.

 

Duration: up to 3 years; possible to extend to another phase, depending on results and achievements of executed projects.
