The aforementioned call for proposals is currently accepting recommendations. Prospective applicants shall thoroughly review the pertinent regulations and submit the necessary documentation by the designated deadlines.
1. The qualifications of the applicant are as follows:
(1) The applicant shall be a full-time staff member of the University, holding the level of Associate Professor, Associate Research Fellow, or higher, and be under the age of 55.
(2) The execution term of this project shall not coincide with the execution period of the NSTC large-scale research project led by the applicant for more than seven months.
(3) The Award supports individual research projects in the fields of physical and mathematical sciences, life sciences, and humanities and social sciences. Applicants are required to submit a project proposal based on their research expertise. The project period is five years. External awardees are allowed to apply for renewal once.
2. The NTU internal operation schedule is as follows:
(1) This programme is founded on a recommendation mechanism. Each college shall nominate a maximum of two applicants, indicating the order of preference, and submit the recommendation list along with the nominees' letters of intent to the R&D Office by 5:00 PM on April 9, 2025 (Wednesday).
In the event that the aggregate number of submissions from the university exceeds five, the R&D Office will initiate a deliberative process prior to the submission of these applications to Academia Sinica.
(2) Recommended applicants from the university must submit their letters of intent through the “Academic Services Management System” of AS (https://asms.sinica.edu.tw/) by 17:00, April 30, 2025, to complete the online application process. Late submissions will not be accepted.
(3) Academia Sinica will provide the results of the letter of intent review by middle of June, 2025. Applicants who have passed the review shall submit their complete project proposals online by 17:00, July 15, 2025.
(4) Announcement of the Awards is tentatively scheduled for November 2025. The approved projects will commence from January 2026 after the official budget is approved. Prior to commencing the Award project, the awardee, serving as the Principal Investigator (Project PI), is required to sign an execution agreement with Academia Sinica.
