Post-approval Procedures

NTU Regulations on Animal Testing Plans After Review and Approval 

 

A. Objective  The purpose of these procedures is to elucidate application details of animal testing plans approved by IACUC (hereinafter referred to as "the Committee") regarding the cancellation of unused animals, changes to the plan content, post-approval reviews, and procedures for reporting and handling violations of laboratory animals' welfare. 

 

B. Scope of Procedures  These procedures are applicable to the cancellation of the animal testing plans, content modifications, post-approval review, and in case doubts exist concerning the welfare of laboratory animals. 

 

C. Duties 

1. Principal Investigator of Animal Testing Projects  The principal investigator has the obligation and responsibility to carry out the experiment in accordance with the approved content. During the execution of the plan, the Committee shall undertake irregular inspections. 

2. The Committee and Administrative Center 

(1) The entities above-mentioned may accept and review whether the actual implementation of the approved plan complies with its previously approved content. 

(2) The entities above-mentioned shall accept complaints concerning violations of animal welfare at NTU and are responsible for issuing the results of on-site inspections.
