In accordance with the directives from the University-based HRPP Certification and Auditing Office at the Ministry of Education, our center has completed the revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to ethical reviews of exempted cases. Please note the following adjustments:
Effective from February 1, 2023, after an exempted case has been approved and a certificate of approval has been issued, there is no need for further follow-up, continuation, or closure tracking.
Effective from February 1, 2023, exempted cases that have already been approved and have obtained a certificate of approval for research ethics review are not required to undergo closure procedures (including cases approved prior to this date). However, applicants who have already submitted closure applications are requested to await notification of the review outcome.
Effective from February 1, 2023, our center will no longer accept any amendment or interim review applications for exempted cases.
Effective from February 1, 2023, in the event of any changes to exempted cases that have been approved and issued a certificate of approval, a new submission will be required for review.
