This joint research center sponsored by AU Optronics Co. is established to promote interdisciplinary, university-wide research and academia-industry collaboration in the areas of advanced displays, AI+IOT technologies, and smart sensing technologies. Research topics range from advanced materials, devices, softwares, system integration and applications related to these technologies.
The center is founded on two core principles: Autonomy and Sustainability.
The center connects faculty across various NTU colleges with industry research needs. Its experimental facilities include a EV Garage for research on electric vehicle technologies and a Cyber-Physical Integration Lab equipped with a Makerspace, providing researchers with resources for development, design, fabrication, and validation.
The ASUS-NTU Joint Research Center was established in 2021 through a collaboration between the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at NTU and ASUS. The center focuses on advanced electromagnetics, next-generation computing, smart IoT, and artificial intelligence. By integrating NTU’s research capabilities with ASUS’s cross-departmental R&D resources, the center aims to foster innovation, open new research frontiers, and drive global technological advancements.
Dedicated to pioneering key emerging technologies, cultivating high-level R&D talent, and facilitating knowledge exchange, the center aspires to become "Asia’s leading and world-class industry-academia research hub." It continues to solicit forward-thinking industry-academia collaboration projects. In a short period, 26 research initiatives have already received ASUS’s support, launching industry-academia cooperation projects spanning the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, College of Engineering, College of Social Sciences, and College of Medicine.
Additionally, the center hosts an Annual Industry-Academia Achievement Showcase to strengthen collaboration between NTU and the industry. Starting in 2025, the center will introduce the Annual Industry-Academia Excellence Awards to recognize outstanding collaborative research projects and further encourage innovation in industry-academia partnerships.
National Taiwan University (NTU) has established the Research Center for Radiation Applications and Radiation-Resistant Technologies to advance interdisciplinary research in space, satellite communications, IoT for vehicles, healthcare, and agriculture. The center collaborates with NTU Hospital’s radiotherapy system and Proton Therapy Center to foster expert cooperation.
Mission:
Research Integration – Unify NTU’s resources to drive innovation in radiation applications and provide technical and policy support for radiation-resistant technologies.
Talent Development – Train professionals and accelerate research in radiation applications.
