Max Planck-IAS-NTU Center for Particle Physics, Cosmology and Geometry

Max Planck-IAS-NTU Center On September 1, 2025, the Max Planck Society, the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), and National Taiwan University (NTU) officially inaugurated the Max Planck–IAS–NTU Center for Particle Physics, Cosmology and Geometry. The ceremony was held at the Leung Center for Cosmology and Particle Astrophysics (LeCosPA).

Facility Overview
Located within the Chee-Chun Leung Cosmology Hall at National Taiwan University, this specifically designated physical facility serves as the collaborative hub for the newly inaugurated Max Planck-IAS-NTU Center for Particle Physics, Cosmology and Geometry.

open space on the 7th Floor
The open space on the 7th Floor is used for social events and as a meeting place for LeCosPA members.

Fostering Cross-Disciplinary Synergies
Designed to act as a "cosmic Rosetta Stone" for deciphering the mysteries of the Universe, the facility provides an optimal environment for seamless interaction. It features dedicated collaborative zones, joint working spaces, and specialized meeting areas that host focused workshops, interdisciplinary summer schools, and collaborative visits from our global partners at the Max Planck Society (MPG) and the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS). By providing this dedicated physical infrastructure, NTU ensures that experts from traditionally separate fields have the unified framework and spatial resources necessary to drive revolutionary insights into the early universe and quantum field theory.

CosmologyHall-Campus
The Cosmology Hall lies between the Department of Physics and the Astronomy-Mathematics building.

Exclusive Dedication to Interdisciplinary Science
In strict alignment with our commitment to breaking down traditional academic silos, this physical facility is dedicated exclusively to interdisciplinary science research teams. It provides a permanent, specialized workspace for researchers integrating the distinct disciplines of particle physics, cosmology, and mathematics/geometry. This space is strictly allocated for these interdisciplinary collaborative activities and is not used for any other general, teaching, or unrelated departmental purposes.
