Application Procedure
Project Application

Applications shall be in compliance with: "Operation Guidelines for MOST Research Project Grants" and relevant project solicitation announcement(s).  Note: MOST Research Projects are divided into three categories.

1. General Projects

  1. Application Time Window: Nov. to Dec. each year.
  2. Application is submitted to MOST onlineby the PI (no hard copies required).
  3. Responsible parties of each department/institute shall confirm the project details online via the MOST system and compile a list of applications to the college to which it belongs.  ※Retired faculty and research personnel with the following qualifications are still eligible on the conditions described below.  -Academician of Academia Sinica  -Recipient of the MOE National Chair Professorship or the MOE Academic Award  -Recipient of the MOST Outstanding Research Award (or the predecessor of MOST, i.e. National Science Council)  -Recipient of the Outstanding Scholar Awards of the Foundation for the Advancement of Outstanding Scholarship (FAOS)-Recipient of other awards recognized by MOST  For the above-mentioned applicants to file a valid application, the responsible unit must be willing to provide research equipment and all administrative assistance for the applicant, and must attach a document specifying such conditions to the application.  Note: All responsible units, i.e. departments or graduate institutes, are required attach this document to the list of project applications.
  4. Within the time specified by the University, each college office shall compile a list of applications and submit it to the Division of Research Project Affairs of ORD. The Division will then forward the complete list to MOST.

 

2. Newly-appointed Staff Research Projects

  1. Application Time Window: Rolling application within three years from the on-board date.
  2. After applying online via the MOST system, the PI shall then log in to the NTU Official Document Management Information System to create a new official document (path: Official Document System > Create a New Document > (Institution/ORD) Template > L. Newly-appointed Staff MOST Research Projects: Application Document). The official document, as well as the Personal Information Form, shall both be approved and signed/stamped before they are forwarded to MOST for review.

 

3. Individual Solicitation Projects

  1. Application Time: According to the solicitation announcements of MOST in various project categories.
  2. The PI shall apply online via the MOST system and fill in the NTU "Research Grant Application Form for MOST-subsidized Special Topic Research Projects". The above-mentioned form, as well as with the cover page of the project proposal (Form CM01), should both be approved and signed/stamped before they are submitted to the Division of Research Project Affairs. The Division will then collect the applications and forward them to MOST.

Application Dates and Deadlines: According to the announcement in the MOST official letters (usually around the period from Jan. to Feb.)  Applications shall be in compliance with: "Operation Guidelines for MOST Research Grant for University Students"

Application Procedure

  1. Students who wish to apply shall first submit an online application via the MOST system.
  2. The department/institute in which the student is enrolled shall confirm the student's identity and project details online via the MOST system.
  3. The PI shall then upload the "Supervising Professor's Preliminary Evaluation Form" online via the MOST system.
  4. Division of Research Project Affairs will then compile a list of all NTU applications and sent it to MOST for review.
  5. The review and approval process will take approximately three months. Once the process is completed, MOST will send an official document with the list of applications approved. The Division of Research Project Affairs will notify the supervising professors so that they can start to execute the research plan with the students and request funding from the Ministry.
  6. Students must submit the report of research results online within one month after the end of the project and participate in the event "College Student Research Creativity Award" organized by MOST.
